Stress Free

Doctors recommend we remove some stress from our lives and learn to relax.

I received these in my email. I should print these out and hang them on my wall for inspiration on how to TRULY loosen up.

Ahh. . . caffeine free. . .

Hiding from the stresses of the day. . .

NAP TIME! (Kinda makes me want to tickle his tummy).

Hope these cuties give you a little smile for today.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

ps. I just listed a new pair of earrings in my ArtistiKat shop: my Copper and Cobalt Blue wraps. I would love it if you'd take a peek and let me know what you think.

Why You SHOULD Call BEFORE You Dig

This week has just sped by!
I seriously thought today was Wednesday when I woke up this morning.

It's been a very hectic week.
My son is in the hospital (he is OK, but it's been a large worry), I've been doing lots of business books/ accounting, and I've been FEVERISHLY preparing for my first booth at the Asheville Downtown Market this weekend.

PHEW!!!
During all this I received an email that has been circulating around as to why you SHOULD always call before you dig.
This poor person didn't. I understand the explosion took out two homes.

I will be definitely keeping this in mind the next time I'm wanting to build a fence.

I had no idea of the devastation that could cause! It looks like a meteor hit...or a very large bomb.

Cute Mini Flower!

OK.
Spring is coming in the Asheville area and I'm really happy about it so you will probably see a LOT of new plant and flower pics from me.

It's so wonderful seeing the new growth and the changes that are going on in all the great outdoors of Western North Carolina.

This is my new addition:
This little cutie is a MINI plantlet/ ground cover/ wild flower- I don't know which. Just found it next to the sidewalk. I almost stepped on it it was so small!

The blossom is only a bare 1/4 inch in diameter!

My sweet hubby had to try 4 times to get the photo to come out decently; what with the sun and breeze, and the camera focusing on everything but the blossom (we got some great photos of dead leaves and dirt) we are lucky to get this photo.
;-)

Have a fantastic Friday everyone- hope you have some spring to enjoy in your area.

On My Third Monday!

Today is St. Patrick's Day.

It got me thinking about luck, or the lack thereof. . . and really... how many Mondays can there be in this week? (I'm on my third Monday so far). . . oof!

Anyway, Here are a few quotes that I've found that you might like.

All of us have bad luck and good luck. the man who persists through the bad luck-who keeps right on going - is the man who is there when the good luck comes - and is ready to receive it. ~Robert Collier

I never knew an early rising, hard working, prudent man, careful of his earnings, and strictly honest who complained of bad luck. ~Henry Ward Beecher

Remember, no human condition is ever permanent. Then you will not be overjoyed in good fortune nor too scornful in misfortune. ~Socrates

Good fortune is what happens when opportunity meets with planning. ~Thomas Alva Edison

A couple of sweet thoughts:

May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow,
and may trouble avoid you wherever you go. ~Irish Blessing

May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light,
May good luck pursue you each morning and night. ~Irish Blessing

Wishing you a wonderful St. Patrick's Day.

Almost Spring

We've had a couple of warm days and I'm probably getting ahead of the season, but it FEELS like spring! Evidently the plants agree with me because they are starting to bud!!!!

To the right are some early arrivals of a ground cover that fills the rock wall on the side of our home. It makes a very pretty little star-like flower. It's very prolific, and will crawl over just about everything, but it's very well mannered and does not try to choke out our other plants.
I keep forgetting it's name.

Below is a little strawberry bud just peeking out. It's the only one in our yard. My daughter saw this last summer at our local nursery and had to have it. For it's size it makes quite a few berries throughout the season; and so sweet! There's nothing like fresh; is there?

We have a few wild roses volunteering throughout our yard. They make the prettiest white blooms in the late spring. This one is already on his way.

I hope that the cold spell the weather people are predicting for later on next week doesn't nip these guys in the bud. No pun intended. . . well, maybe a little pun.

I'll post some photos of these later on in the season so you can see how they do; sort of a before and after comparison.

Have a great day!
